Building

Trinity UMC strives to reveal that God is essential in people's lives.

Building Addition

In 2004, Trinity embarked on a building expansion.  The new multipurpose room houses contemporary worship services, youth activities, Sunday School, Lenten breakfasts, and more.  For a donation, the community will also have the opportunity to use the hall for wedding receptions, township meetings, corporate events....  Contact the church secretary at 865-4361for more details.

Lickdale, Pennsylvania is a growing community.  In the middle of an industrial boom for Lebanon County is Trinity United Methodist Church.  The congregation kept growing.  They needed room in the pews and on the parking lot.  Town meetings for local businesses and Union Township overfilled the old community room out into the hallway, and people couldn't see what was going on.  When there was bad weather, Bible school didn't have enough rooms to accommodate all of the children indoors.  It took years, but at a leadership retreat in 2002, the administrative council put a long-term vision into full throttle.

On April 17, 2005, Trinity United Methodist Church, Lickdale Pennsylvania, dedicated a new Community Center with the Sacrament of Holy Communion.  Northwest District Superintendent Alfred Maloney joined the congregation as Pastor Richard Rogers blessed the wine and broke the bread.  Don Eisenhauer and Jeff Werner, members of the building team, as well as Jeff Balsbaugh, offered words of praise.  Present and former lay leaders Scott McFeaters, Jeff Balsbaugh, Laverne Garman, and Jo Ellen Litz joined by teen protégés Chris Werner, Molly Eckert, Brittney Kleinfelter, and Nicole Kreiser served bread representing the Body of Christ and juice representing the Blood of Christ to the 175 people in attendance.

Laurie Andrews read a scripture message, 1 Kings 8:22-30; 54-63.  Pastor Roger's delivered a message entitled "Dedicate it All!" A children's message; ministries of music by the Hearts Afire praise band, the choir, and organist Irene Darkes; a PowerPoint ministry by Susan Aungst Myers; as well as a wonderful meal prepared by the Buck Hotel rounded out the morning of worship and celebration thanking God for his guidance during construction.  So often congregations experience dissention during a project of this magnitude, but at Trinity Lickdale, God drew the congregation closer together.  Fundraisers took the form of auctions, friendly competitions between husbands and wives who had to "pay the kitty" if clothes weren't picked up..., sales of personalized baking pans, and of course asking for financial donations.

The result is a spacious flexible multi-purpose room with high ceilings.  Able to accommodate worship services, wedding receptions, volleyball games, or community events, the center is sure to glorify God by bringing people into His house.  Acoustics are fantastic, and the facility is equipped with the latest electronic equipment--including dual multimedia projectors and retracting screens; a modern kitchen; fully handicap accessible restrooms; and additional classrooms.

From a bread cutting in place of the traditional ribbon cutting the first week to the dedication service during the second week, then a pot pie supper, and finally a teen concert by Everlife in the last week of April, Arthur Funk and Sons, Bowman's Plumbing and Heating, and Jonestown Bank are among the service providers that helped to sponsor a month of activities at Trinity UMC.
