Trinity UMC strives to reveal
that God is essential in people's lives.

When I was reading scriptures and quotes/motivations for today,
these really stood out for me. When I put them together, in my
heart I felt God is telling me to look beyond an obvious reason for
why these are together, do a bit of searching. And ya know, that
made sense. When I looked at the scripture then the quote and
motivation I found myself questioning WHAT they really had to do
with each other. I sat back and re-read Corinthians. "if anyone is
in Christ"...old is gone and the new has come.
As you read the quote and motivation think about your life prior to
knowing Christ vs. knowing Christ.

Scripture
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if
anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has
gone, the new has come!
Quote:
The measure of a
man is what happens when nothing works and you got the guts to go
on.
-- Tex Cobb, boxer and actor

Motivation
Rise to the
Challenges
You
can rise to the challenges or you can let them push you
down. You can make the best of them, or you can let them get
the best of you. It all depends on how you respond. It all
depends on how you see yourself.
If you see yourself as a victim, you will be. Life's
difficulties will quickly overpower you if you let them.
When you see yourself as a participant in life, as an
effective and positively focused force, not only will the
challenges yield to your involvement, they will serve to
make you stronger.
Look at each challenge as an opportunity. What can you learn
from it? What can you do with it? How can you bring about
something positive because of it?
When faced with a challenge, ask yourself this question. How
can I respond to this challenge so that a year from now,
looking back at the experience, I'll be overwhelmingly
thankful that it came along?
The challenges are there and they will keep on coming.
Rise to the challenges. It's a great way to powerfully
lift
yourself up.
