In a recent survey, 84% of respondents listed a happy family as the most essential thing in their lives, ranking it higher than a good income, healthy environment, or any other pressing social issue.  Ironically, half of all marriages today will end in divorce.

FamilyLife, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ, is teaching practical, biblical principles for strengthening and improving marriages.  The Little Rock ministry presents its FamilyLife Marriage Seminars in churches nation-wide; a seminar will be held at Fredericksburg UMC on October 12 & 13, 2001.

The FamilyLife Seminars have been adapted from the FamilyLife Marriage Conferences, which have been attended by over 500,000 people in 100 cities across the country.  Nationally known experts speak on a variety of topics, including:   five threats to marriage, resolving conflict, husbands' and wives' responsibilities in marriage, and sexual intimacy.  The seminar also includes time for couples to apply what they are learning, and a romantic date night.

Comments made by the attendees express the impact of this seminar:

"The seminar has reaffirmed my love for my wife and the attention that she needs.  A tune-up and much-needed maintenance has taken place.  We both feel a need to make ourselves a priority to each other again.  It was an excellent seminar."  --Sales representative, married 16 years

"The seminar has opened my eyes to see the commitment I should have in my marriage.  I've learned that I need to help and support my husband and not think of him as an enemy out to get me."  --Cosmetologist, married 3 years

The seminar was open to both married and engaged couples as well as individuals.   For more information, to volunteer, or to become a sponsor of this event, contact Jo Ellen Litz at (717)274-1175 or email Litz@mbcomp.com
